Hello Readers

Thank You for visiting CookFaceBook

This website is built as a tribute to my mother who passed away recently. When she was here I used to call her for any recipe. Now that is she is gone, I have no clue who to ask. Moreover, who would want to take your call just to answer a stupid question 24/7 other than your own MOM. I have decided to put all the recipes I learned from her in writing while it is still fresh in my memory so I don't forget. Usually, when you don't make a recipe for few months, you tend to forget what the exact quantity of a specific ingredient was. Atleast I do.

Mommy - You will always be in our hearts. We will never forget all the good things you taught us including all the delicious recipes and the good times we had together and together as a family with Dad and Sisters. This website is for you. Thank You for all you have done for us.

About my mother

My mother was a great cook. Although my sisters and I use the same ingredients and method, still can't make it taste as good. Could never figure out why. After I got married, I realised how hard it could have been for my mother to make fresh food for a family of 5(Mine is only 2 ppl :-)) three times a day inaddition to having a full time job. We never had left over food. It was always made fresh everyday. AMAZING!!! In addition to being a great cook she loved entertaining guests for dinner and celebrations.

One of my all time favorites my mother used to make is vegetable rice. She made this often whenever there was any celebration or we had some guests over. Its so simple to make you wouldn't think it would taste different from cook to cook even after using the same ingredients. It had a awesome taste that you could eat it by itself without having a curry or anything with it and my sisters and I could never replicate the taste. That is probably the meaning of the popular phrase in Hindi !!! Maa Ke Haath Ka Jaadu !!!
